Secret Identity Shadow

Inspired by the movie poster for Star Wars Phantom Menace

Photography Section

Step 1:

• Take a photograph of the image you want for your shadow
  • You will only be using the shadow part of this photo later in photoshop
• DO NOT move the camera after you take the photo!

Step 2:

• Have someone change the main object
• Take a photograph

In photoshop we will combine the two images

Photoshop Section

Step 1:

• Move the photograph that will be for the shadow ontop of the photo that will be the main object

Step 2:

• Highlight both layers
• Go to
  • Edit
    • Auto-Align Layers
      • Ok

Step 3:

• Add a Layer Mask to the top layer
• Slightly lower the Opacity (70%-90%) so you can see part of the below image

Step 4:

• Select the Paint Brush Tool
  • Make sure it’s a black paint color
    • Paint out the parts you do not want
      • If you take off to much, flip the paint brush to White and paint it back in

Step 5:

• Flatten Image
• Crop off anything extra
• Edit in Camera Raw
• Logo
