Abstract Photography
What is it?
- Abstract photography is taking pictures of things so that you can’t tell what they actually are. Instead of taking a normal picture of a dog, a house, or a tree, an abstract photographer focuses on colors, shapes, patterns, and light to make a “visual puzzle”.
Here is how to think about it
- It’s a “What Is That?” Game
The goal is to make people look at a photo and say, “Is that rust? Or is it a painting?”. It breaks the rules of normal photography, which usually wants you to see the subject clearly.
Why Do It?
- Abstract photography is all about showing how something feels rather than what it is. It turns ordinary things—a garden hose or the reflection in a spoon—into art.
