Forced Perspective Techniques
Imagineers designed the street with specific architectural “tilts” and scaling to trick the eye:
- Vertical Scaling: Buildings are not full-scale. The ground floor is built to 1/1 scale, the second story is approximately 5/8 or 3/4 scale, and the third story is even smaller.
- Street Angling: The buildings are slightly angled towards the castle. This narrowing of the street toward the end makes the distance appear greater than it is.
- Distance Illusions:
- Entry Path: Walking toward the castle, the street feels expansive and long, making the destination feel like a grand arrival.
- Exit Path: Walking toward the train station, the street appears shorter. This is intended to make the walk out of the park feel less daunting for tired guests at the end of the day
