After studying the works of abstract artist Kandinsky, you will be creating your own Kandinsky inspired abstract photograph

Supplies:

  • Water
  • Liquid Soap
  • Oil
  • Wisk or fork
  • Cellphone
  • Clear container
  • Two objects to hold the container

Step 1:  Cell Phone

  • Search for “colorful wallpaper” images
  • Make sure they have lots of colors and patterns
Step 2:
  • Get a clear glass container or bowl
  • Place the glass container on two steady objects
  • Add water to the container so that it 1/4 the way full
  • Place the screen under the water
  • Put in a couple drops of oil or soap
    • Do NOT combine the two.  You will need to do each alone
  • Mix it around with a wisk or fork to create more bubbles

Step 3:

  • Zoom in close with the camera
  • Take photo
  • If you don’t like the way the circles look you can mix them up again

Step 4:

Make sure you have taken one photo for soap bubbles and one photo for oil

  • Soap Bubbles will have smaller circles
  • Oil will have larger circles
